Yoga Fundraiser for Habitat Chicago

One of our yoga pals right here at AHY (and a longtime in-real-life-yoga pal of mine) is working with Habitat for Humanity Chicago on their Women Build campaign. This is a month-long event in October bringing together 450+ women "to celebrate our strengths, have a blast, and build a stronger future for our fellow women through safe and affordable homeownership," by building new homes in Chicago's Pullman neighborhood. 

From Elena's Team, "A Woman’s Place Is Building A House":  "The life-changing benefits of affordable home ownership are immense: it improves school performance, decreases crime, improves financial outcomes, and enhances the health and well-being of children and adults – just to name a few. But due to gendered barriers like the pay gap and its impact on credit access, and uneven child care responsibilities that limit time and financial resources, it is far more difficult for women to become homeowners."

Elena and I hope you'll join us for this special yoga class and chat. She'll share more about her team and the build event, I'll share some yoga, we'll celebrate our IMMENSE STRENGTHS. The strengths needed to build in our communities, emotionally and physically. We'll also celebrate our IMMENSE JOY (with a bangin' playlist by women artists around the world)!
